Ulix space agents are taking Croatians to space.
Zagreb firm Ulix presented today unique offer to Croatian market – organisation of flights to space.

(Zagreb, April 1st 2009.). After recent signing of contract with British company Virgin Galactic, which on todays press conference was presented by Carolyne Wincer, sales manager of space flights and Kate Button, reservations manager, Ulix became the only Croatian firm which offers space voyage. Three of their employees, Slaven Bonković, Tamara Budija and Anđelko Ćalušić who is also a founder of Ulix, became accredited space agents who provide necesarry information for those who are interested in this adventure and also can realize their flight over the limits of space.

For now only 35 countries achieved to get accreditation for this unique offer and we are very happy that croatia is one of them. ''Virgin already received 300 reservation and it is expected that this number will rise since the interest for this trip is shown in our agency. First flights will start in 2011 from temporary space port in desert Mojave, California'' - said Slaven Bonković.''Ulix and Virgin share the same values and similar business philosophy. This collaboration is a big acknowledgment but also a big encouragement to promote this new area – space tourism and Virgin as a brand. Our big desire is to bring Richard Branson to Croatia , as a support, encouragment and inspiration for young enterpreneurs in adventure called enterpreneurship'' – said Anđelko Ćalušić.

Carolyn Wincer has presented more information about this project which is financed by Richard Branson, one of the largest visionaries of this period and owner of the Virgin group. Everything started in 1996 when a 10 million US dollars award was given to the project which will enable comercial flights to space. Award was won by an aircraft called SpaceShipOne 2004. which reached the altitude of 110 km. Based on the experience with first aircraft, began the professional development of SpaceShipTwo, which will bring to orbit six passengers and two pilots. The plan is the construction of space airport in New Mexico and Kiruna, Sweden, which will bring to adventure another attraction which is possibility of observing the polar lights.

The price of the flight which lasts two and a half hours, of which 4 minutes is in weightlessness, is 200.000$. Couple of persons already showed interest so we can say that with this unique offer Ulix is opening a new area –'Croatian space tourism'.
